Campaign Roundup: Debate Night
With eight days until Election Day, the final gubernatorial debate highlights the campaign calendar:
Governor’s Debate
- The four candidates for governor — Republican Charlie Baker, independent Tim Cahill, Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick and Green-Rainbow Party candidate Jill Stein — participate in their 16th and final debate this campaign season.
- The hour-long debate is the second put on by the statewide media consortium, of which WBUR is a member. The debate will be broadcast on 90.9 WBUR-FM and wbur.org at 7 p.m. Former ABC News anchor Charles Gibson moderates the event.
Also debating today are the candidates for state treasurer, auditor and attorney general:
Statewide Race Debates
- This afternoon, the candidates for treasurer, Democrat Steve Grossman and Republican Karyn Polito, debate at Stonehill College in Easton. The debate will be broadcast on WickedLocalPolitics.com.
- This evening, the candidates for auditor, Democrat Suzanne Bump, Republican Mary Z. Connaughton and Green-Rainbow Party candidate Nat Fortune, debate at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. The debate will be broadcast locally and on pittsfieldtv.org.
- Later, at 10 p.m., the candidates for attorney general, Democratic incumbent Martha Coakley and Republican Jim McKenna, debate on FOX25-TV.
